Water Marbling
Supplies needed:
- Nail polish (at least 3)
- Tape
- A cup (preferably not one you will drink from again)
- Filtered or bottled water - a room temperature
- Scissors
- A toothpick or pencil
- Card board (from maybe a cereal box) or a paper bag
- Disposable fork
Step 1: Paint a base coat.
Step 2: Put tape around your nail (on your skin - so the nail polish will not adhere to your skin) -under cuticle, around finger.
Add water to the cup.
Step 3: Load your brush with nail polish - dripping. The nail polish should spread. Make a bulls eye of it.
Step 4: Take a toothpick/pencil and make some designs with it, wipe your toothpick/pencil off on a napkin after each mark.
Step 5: Dunk you finger into the water nail side down (facing water with nail polish)
Step 6: Use the disposable fork to remove the extra nail polish in the water.
-After your finger is removed from the water use the disposable fork to clean
the water at the surface.
*repeat steps 1-6 for all of your nails -(paint the base cost and put the tape on your fingers on one hand before moving on to step 3)
Step 7: Give your nails time to dry.
Step 8: Take your scissors and cut the tape from the back and remove the tape from around the nail.
Step 9: Use a Q-tip with nail polish remover on it to clean up the edges of the nail.
Step 10 (optional): You can add a clear coat to the top of the nail.
This was very fun I had a great time doing it, it is also very easy, messy and time consuming...
Your cup will get really messy!
This was my first attempt on my nails, it turned out pretty good.
This was a very cute design that I made with one of my nails.
I believe it came off because I touched it (it was my first time).
My model throughout the tutorial was my sister. :)
